Teaching For Creativity The Grange Festival
Designer and Teacher
In collaboration with the University of Winchester and as part of the Arts Council England-funded Creativity Collaborative, Teaching for Creativity builds on the Wild Hampshire project, which introduced a structured creative process—Explore / Ideate / Evaluate—to add value and embed learning in primary education.
The creative artists and primary teachers have co-developed an arts-integrated teaching framework specifically for PHSE (Physical, Health, Social, and Economic education) for Key Stages 1 and 2. Together, we have designed and delivered a unique teaching unit that incorporates drama, music, and design, engaging children in three-dimensional learning.
To support sustainable creative teaching, we are developing a comprehensive toolkit including lesson plans, hands-on arts activities, techniques, and tutorials. This toolkit is designed to build teachers’ confidence in integrating the arts and empowers them to inspire curiosity, imagination, and foster creativity across the curriculum.
Wild Hampshire project has been shortlisted for the Music and Drama Education Awards for Excellence in Primary/Early Years (Music & Drama.)
